Big Data BI Team Leader
Gigya, located in Tel Aviv, is looking for a skilled and hands on team leader, experienced in leading data related activities, to lead our Data Infrastructure Team.
We are using cutting edge technologies, such as ElasticSearch, HBase, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, ZooKeeper and looking for more. This position will involve working on a core team of data-platform engineers tackling many interesting technical challenges in the areas of big data, machine learning, distributed computing and high availability. The job will be to design, develop and test solutions for the BigData infrastructure, design cross system modification processes with focus on maintainability, performance and system capacity
Responsibilities:
Create a team for building data solutions that help product and business teams to make data driven decisions
Create tools that help other groups to create and consume data in a scalable way
Create tools for monitoring and analyzing the system behavior
Mentor other people in the company about best practices and guidelines related to the team responsibilities
Design the system architecture to process massive amounts of data in scalable ways
Leverage homegrown ETL framework as well as off-the-shelf ETL tools, as appropriate
Communicating with various positions in the company (Dev, Product, Research, Operations, QA, BI) and customers
Architect Big Data storage platforms
Work with dev-ops team to tune and monitor 3rd party libraries
Requirements:
Must - At least 5 years' experience developing Java !!!
Must - At least 3 years Team Management experience !!!
Must - Experience with Hadoop's ecosystem (such as Hadoop, HBase)
Must - Experience with large-scale production databases
Must - Experience with relational and non-relational databases and storage systems
Must - Skilled with the Linux shell and bash scripting
Advantage- B.Sc. in Software Engineering or Computer Science
Advantage - Experience with a real production service
Advantage - experience developing algorithms – Data mining / BI
Advantage - Experience with Spark
Advantage - Experience and knowledge with machine learning algorithms
Self motivated
Strong communication capabilities
Self learning skills with fast learning curve
Passionate about data
